Firstly, the definition of the word “justice” must be given. Therefore, justice is a noun that means quality of following principles of reason, commonly accepted standards of right and wrong, and the stated terms of law, agreements and rules. In addition, what does justice mean to be is the quality of following rightfulness and lawfulness, the managing of deserved punishment and reward, administration what is strictly according to law, decisions concerning the treatment of individuals or the outlook of cases in court. The concept “justice” has more definitions. In the same time, on my opinion the above-mentioned description demonstrates our exact understanding of the word. Only in the case, when the law is applied in the same way it was written, it can be called “justice”. Moreover, law is written to assist both sides of the particular case. As I think, justice does not have the main goal to send a person who committed the crime into prison given him a life sentence, but to help that person to change and not to commit the crime ever again. People used to think that justice consists in the punishment for the person who committed the crime. In the same time, justice must help both the victim (and the victim family) and the offender. Justice does not supposed to be a righter of wrongs, but must always try to help people. The Catholic Agency Of Overseas Development was right saying that “justice is not only about providing a law, but a respect for the rights of others, equality or treatment, fairness, common good, honesty and truth.”

Justice consists in following the word of law. In every exact case, all the law requirements must be confirmed. For example, as in the case of 17-year-old Douglas C. Thomas, who have killed his girlfriend parents and firstly was set to death, but eventually was granted to stay. The Virginia Supreme Court confirmed the Virginia Appeals Court decisions about not notifying both his parents, therefore, not satisfying the law.
